Accommodation

Since we're are not Lannisters, we are not able to serve you with accommodations on the spot. But here are some recommendations from us.

Accommodation
Nusa Dua to Benoa area
If you wish to go for 4-5 star hotels with private white sandy beach. It’s roughly USD 100-150/night.
+++ Good for families, private beach, completed with own little shopping and dining area.
--- A bit far from the buzzing life of Bali, around 45 minutes ride to Kuta.
Try: Westin, Melia Nusa Dua, Melia Benoa, Novotel.. it’s like a big complex for hotels.

Seminyak to Kerobokan area
A lot of variation, from affordable to top notch hotels (you can try W hotel, just open for a year), as well as small to big villas. While Kuta are usually packed with backpackers, Seminyak is somewhat a trendier place. Mostly I will choose to stay in Seminyak.
+++ Great location. This is halfway to Kuta in the south (where the church venue is located) and halfway to Canggu in the north (where the villa venue is located). Lots of restaurants and cafes within reach, from Indonesian to French, to Indian, etc. Quite close to the chic day-spots (try search for: Potato Head) or the trendier night life/clubs. For the complete list, have a look here.
--- The road is only 2 lanes, traffic can be crowded and hard to find parking spots.. But then again, you don’t really need to worry if you got a driver.
Try: Anantara Hotel and Resort, W Hotel and Resort, the affordable Grandmas Hotel or Fave Hotel (only USD 30/night!).
For villa options, try to look in: Bali Villa Worldwide, Pristine Bali Villas, Bali Signature Villas, or our villa provider Bali Villa Rentals. There’s a lot of villas in Seminyak. It may not face the ocean.. but you’ll get your own space and your own pool :)

Kuta to Legian area
Although it has tons of good hotels and restaurants, I don’t really recommend for you to stay in this area IF you got babies or small kids because the night life can be disturbing. But if you like to parrrrteeeeh.. this is the place to be!
+++ A lot of budget accommodations, as well as pricey hotels. A stone throw away from massage parlours, food places, local and international shops, the famous Kuta beach and the busting night life!
--- Again, the night life can be too loud and disturbing sometimes.
Try: Legian 101 Hotel, Pop Hotel, Amaris Hotel, The Mulia, Jayakarta Hotel... and tons of other hotels!

Jimbaran to Uluwatu area
Quite similar to Nusa Dua area. A lot of choices, especially for big hotels, resorts and lavish villas.
Try: Four Seasons, Kupu Barong, Ayana Resorts, Semara Resorts.

Ubud area
If you want to stay in Ubud, you can choose for small hotels in the Ubud center or 5-stars boutique hotels overlooking the valley and the river. A friend of mine lives in Ubud and got their own boutique hotel that you can try :)
Try: Kenanga Ubud, Kupu Barong, Amandari

Of course you can find more hotels, resorts, or villas to your own liking in Agoda website.

Transportation
Motorbike
If you wish to go around the city center with bikes, there's gonna a lot of motorbike rentals nearby your hotels.. especially if you stay around Kuta, Legian, or Seminyak area. The price is around IDR 25,000 - 35,000. Just negotiate with them :)
Tip: I know it's hot in Bali, but you gotta use the helmet! Put the shower cap you got from the hotel to cover your hair if you dont want the to be smelly (for the girls, and maybe boys). And bring your driving licence at all time. Police business can easily cost you IDR 100,000 or more. You won't want that.

Car
But, if you wish to have something that comes with air-co, do call Bali Seasons car rental with Gus Ade: 0812 3692775. He can help you with car rentals, with or without drivers for a good price!

Honestly, these are from personal experiences :) Hope you can enjoy it as much as I (or we) do.

• Ubud, the cultural center of Bali… either a day trip or stay there for 1-2days, art are displayed everywhere, green rice fields, museums and galleries, good food, and good yoga. This is where they shoot the Eat, Pray, Love movie.
• Monkey Forest  in Ubud, self explanatory.
• Tanah Lot, it’s a temple in the middle of the sea. Great for sunset.
• Bedugul, area located in the higher plain, cool lake with temple.
• Pura Besakih. Pura means temple. This is the biggest temple in Bali, located on a hilltop.
• If you want to visit (enter) the temple, you may not be on your period. You can only wait outside.
• Uluwatu. Basically also a temple, but it’s located on the edge of a cliff. It got a lot of monkeys too, and popular for the famous Sunset Balinese Dance/Performances of Kecak (where there are lot’s man involved). To see the performance will cost you USD 25/person.
• Go the Bali Bird Park, Elephant Ride, Camel Ride, etc.
• Go diving in Amed, Loving, or the island.. or look at dolphins in Lovina.
• Go take surfing lesson in Kuta, or parasailing, or banana boat, or jet skis…
• Do some rafting in Ayung River.
...Or do some tanning, deep massage, spa, and pamper yourself!

OK, so where to get tanned?
• Kuta Beach: quite dark sand, usually packed with tourist doing some tanning, footballing, put fake tattooes and put braids to their hairs.
• Seminyak Beach: quite dark sand, less tourists. If you go to Potato Head and KuDeTa, you can enjoy a good sunset.
• Echo Beach: dark sand, not really touristic, the closest one to the villa in Canggu.
• Nusa dua beach: White sandy beach, mostly privately owned.
• Uluwatu Beach: White sandy beach, mostly privately owned by big expensive villas (you can check: Semara Villas). To get in, they will asked for a deposit of around EUR 25-50. The one that is open for public is called Dreamland, lots of tourist there.
• Padang-Padang Beach: Good for Surfing!
... Or just lay on your porch and embrace the sun ;)
